The two opposite themes I was exploring relates to the idea of openness and closedness. The first set relates to the object being 'open', which is either something like an open box or hair just flowing out. While, the second idea relates to object being 'closed', which can be like a closed umbrella or taking off your shoes. This idea was very simple, so I chose to put more time into choosing what and how I was photographing the subject. I chose this theme, more so because I was really intrigued how an object can differ between two states.
Indexical refers to the bond with reality and a digital copy of it. It is sort of like the camera produces a "footprint" of an event, thus it's not really reality. It's not reality as when we take a picture with a camera not only can we adjust multiple settings to manipulate reality, but the process that captures the picture produces the resulting image through a series of process and algorithms.
