For my critique I chose to do it on Stephanie's work. Her work is inspired by Sam Taylor Johnson and portrays an uncanniness to it. I really enjoy the work as I find it very unique and it truly captures the idea of a moving still as it seems her friend is about to fall down to the ground. Her message she wanted to address was about being out of control of life and I think she does it really well. The friend seems to be in distress while falling. His arms indicate that he is trying to attain the control back, but is clearly failing. Also, I love how his socks do not match as it shows the disorder that is happening in his life. The setting Stephanie chooses seems to be an excellent representation on showcasing that despite the world around us being calm and tranquil, on the inside a person can be in disorder and falling apart. Overall, I think this work of art is really well executed. I am impressed at the amount of effort she took in completing her work.
